Giorgos Managoudis launched our professional development, when he moved from Chios to Athens in 1969 and started working as a plumber’s assistant. He quickly brought together his own crew and a few years later he went into partnership with a mechanical engineer to grow his business with regard to

a) the horizontal extent of its range, comprising all types of HVAC installations and

b) the vertical extent of the production process from the design to its implementation on site, where he started working.

A surprising performance of a skilled worker made him quickly reconsider his view about the value of seemingly humble tasks in the building project and realize that the height to which, we can raise the bar of technical ambitions, is a matter of passion for the profession.

At this stage he decided to turn his enthusiasm for the profession into action and allied with his like-minded fellow Vasilis Karteris in 1988. A little later, he started convey the zeal for the business to his son and current CEO of ICON Group, Dimitris Managoudis. The company is gradually becoming an ICON of family business and the second generation of initial fellow partners is currently represented also by the CTO of ICON Group, Dimitris Karteris.

ICON Group is meanwhile employing 70 people of various skills and disciplines. Among them, there are descendants of former subcontractors or relatives of the initial fellow partners. The element of family remains the force of cohesion among all members of ICON Group team.
